1. Guest

A natural or legal person who makes a booking through the Valo website. By completing the booking, the guest accepts these General Terms and Conditions (GTC) as well as the applicable House Rules.

2. Subject of the Contract

The subject of this contract is the temporary provision of the booked accommodation for the agreed purpose. Facilities, size, maximum occupancy and other features are described in the respective property listing on the website.

3. Booking and Conclusion of Contract

Bookings are made through the Valo website.

By completing the booking process, the guest submits a binding offer to conclude an accommodation agreement. The contract is concluded upon confirmation of the booking.

Valo reserves the right to reject or cancel bookings for important reasons. This applies in particular in cases of obvious booking errors, violations of these GTC, or reasonable suspicion of misuse of the accommodation.

4. Prices and Payment Terms

The prices published on the website at the time of booking shall apply. The following payment methods are accepted:

  • PayPal
  • Credit card via Stripe

The total amount must be paid in accordance with the payment terms specified during the booking process.

If payment is not received on time, Valo reserves the right to cancel the booking.

5. Cancellation Policy

We understand that travel plans can change. Therefore, the following cancellation policy applies to all bookings:

  • Free cancellation is possible up to 5 days before the arrival date.
  • If the booking is cancelled within 5 days before check-in, one additional night will be charged. Of the remaining booked nights, 50% of the accommodation costs will be refunded.
  • In the event of a no-show, cancellation on the day of arrival, or early departure, no refund will be granted for unused nights.
  • Payments already made will be refunded in accordance with the above conditions.
  • Any payment processing or transaction fees may be deducted from the refund.

We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance. 

6. Check-in and Check-out

Check-in is available from 4:00 pm. The accommodation must be vacated by 11:00 am on the day of departure.

Earlier check-in or later check-out is only possible upon prior agreement and subject to availability.

7. Use of the Accommodation

The accommodation may be used for residential, leisure and business purposes, including business trips, remote work, home office or temporary project stays.

The following are not permitted in particular:

  • Events and parties
  • Commercial activities involving clients, patients or public visitors at the accommodation
  • Commercial photography and film productions
  • Subletting or transferring the accommodation to third parties
  • Any use that may cause excessive wear to the accommodation or disturb other residents

The maximum occupancy specified for the respective accommodation must not be exceeded.

8. House Rules

The guest agrees to comply with the applicable House Rules.

The House Rules form an integral part of these General Terms and Conditions.

The following provisions apply in particular:

  • The accommodation may only be used by registered guests.
  • Pets are not permitted.
  • Smoking, e-cigarettes and vaporizers are prohibited throughout all indoor areas and within the building.
  • Open flames, candles and any other sources of fire are not permitted.
  • Quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am must be observed.
  • Areas not designated for guest use must not be entered.
  • Furniture, equipment and inventory must be treated with care.
  • Sports and recreational equipment may only be stored in the designated areas.
  • Windows and doors must be closed when leaving the accommodation.
  • The maximum occupancy specified for the respective accommodation must not be exceeded.

Serious or repeated violations of the House Rules may result in the immediate termination of the stay without any entitlement to a refund.

9. Damage and Guest Liability

The guest is liable for all damage caused intentionally or negligently by themselves or by accompanying persons.

Any damage, defects or malfunctions must be reported immediately. Repair, replacement or consequential costs may be charged to the guest.

In the event of lost keys, the guest shall be liable for the resulting costs, including, where necessary, the replacement of the locking system.

10. Valo's Liability

Valo shall only be liable for damages resulting from intentional misconduct or gross negligence, to the extent permitted by law.

No liability is accepted for personal belongings, valuables, cash or parked vehicles.

Liability for indirect damages, consequential losses, loss of profit or any other financial loss is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

Guests are advised to take out private travel, cancellation and liability insurance.

11. Force Majeure

If the accommodation cannot be provided due to force majeure, official orders, natural events, technical failures or other circumstances beyond Valo's control, no claim for damages shall arise.

Any payments already made will be refunded in full in such cases.

12. Data Protection

Personal data is processed exclusively for the purpose of handling the booking and in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations.

13. Severability Clause

Should any provision of these General Terms and Conditions be or become wholly or partially invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that comes closest to the economic purpose of the invalid provision.

14. Governing Law and Place of Jurisdiction

Swiss law shall apply exclusively.

The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising out of or in connection with the accommodation agreement shall be Freienbach (SZ), unless mandatory statutory provisions provide otherwise.

15. Amendments to the General Terms and Conditions

Valo reserves the right to amend these General Terms and Conditions at any time. The version valid at the time of booking shall apply.
